In 2008, the company added to its portfolio the legendary Trafalgar gin, made using London Dry Gin technology.
London Dry Gin is the most common and popular method of production and is considered to be dry gin, the highest quality obtained after distillation.
It got its name in honor of the legendary Battle of Trafalgar, in which Admiral Nelson defeated the fleet of Napoleon and the Spaniards. It is also the name of one of the most beautiful places in London – Trafalgar Square.
Traditional technology involves the dilution of alcohol with water to reduce its strength to approximately 45%. This liquid is placed in an alembic (usually copper) and spices are added to it. In some cases, spices are placed on special trays or in bags and placed over alcohol.
Then distillation is carried out, the purpose of which is to saturate the alcohol with the aromas of spices. During this process, the “heads” and “tails” are separated, leaving only the most aromatic “heart” of the distillate, the strength of which is about 80%. Water is added to it in order to lower the alcohol content. The resulting gin is ready to drink, its strength can vary from 37.5% to 50%.
Gin is made by fermenting raw grains and then double or triple distilling with juniper buds and other aromatic plant materials called “botany”. The three main ingredients that define the style and quality of gin are alcohol, herbal spices and water. The strength of alcohol is not less than 96%. At least ten herbs recognizable in aroma: juniper berries, saffron, coriander, cardamom, citrus fruits, ginger, etc. One of the bases is the purest filtered soft water. The product is produced exclusively from natural, carefully selected ingredients, which allows to achieve the highest quality.
