Zima is a sorceress who has a special aesthetic taste and a very difficult character. But, if you find an approach, friendship with her will be strong and transparent as ice, soulful and even warm as a soft fur coat. How to please that Snow Queen with an icy heart and a cold mind? Of course, with new recipes for delicious drinks that slightly cheer up the soul and heart.
It seems that friends, acquaintances and relatives will not mind tasting and feasting on delicious food on winter weekends, when you want warm comfort, sincere love, and endless happiness. Therefore, let’s try a few new recipes today, on the eve of the holidays, I visited the Brandbar online store, where on the virtual shelves you can find everything you need not only for professional bartenders, but also for those who like to spoil “their” with something tasty.
Eggnog is a classic lightness
Let’s start with a light low-alcohol cocktail, without which no Christmas in America is complete. Its highlight is the base, which consists of milk, fruit and…. egg yolks Spices give it a distinct taste: cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg. The alcoholic note depends on personal preferences. It can be cognac, whiskey or American bourbon. We will prepare egg nog with rum. Our Brandbar store offers several varieties of this drink. You can always choose Rum Havana Club Anejo, Rum EL Galipote Speced drink, Rum EL Galipote light or dark according to your taste and desire. All products are of high production quality, at a pleasant price. And we will quickly deliver the order to any corner of Ukraine.
So let’s start cooking. Mix cream (1 cup), milk (2 cups), spices (vanilla (2 tsp sugar), cinnamon (2 sticks), nutmeg (ground, 1/4 tsp)) in a small saucepan. We only bring the mixture to the first bubbles over low heat, immediately set it aside and let it infuse for half an hour. After that, the mixture will have to be filtered.
Meanwhile, separate the yolks (8 eggs) and beat them with sugar (8 tablespoons) and salt (1 pinch) until white. Reducing the speed of whipping, very carefully and slowly add the strained cream-spice mixture to the beaten egg yolks. Now put everything back on a slow fire and bring to a boil, without stopping to stir the mixture with a silicone spatula.
After removing from the heat, move the saucepan to a container with ice water and immediately add rum (250 ml) and milk (0.5 l) to the drink. Chilled Egg Nog is almost ready to serve and eat. All that remains is to beat the egg whites to a lush foam, spread the foam in glasses and decorate the wonderful creamy cocktail on top with grated nutmeg.
Hot Toddy is for those who don’t like the cold
In the worst frosts, all you want is home comfort and warmth. For such a mood, of course, good old mulled wine or grog are ideal. But to add a bit of color to the winter snow, you can prepare and warm yourself with a hot toddy – a classic Irish and Scottish cocktail, which today we will turn into a modern winter holiday drink by adding a special component to it.
Let’s not keep it a secret for long. Let’s reveal the secret. A special component here will be a grilled orange, or rather its slices. This will give the cocktail a special sophistication and nobility, and a sweet, delicate aroma of caramel will spread throughout the room.

Let’s start. Let’s prepare everything we need:
• Whiskey (400 ml) – Ballantine’s Finest whiskey or EL Galipote dark rum, which can be found on the shelves of our Brandbar store, are perfect.
• Natural honey (180 g).
• Lemon juice (250 ml).
• Mineral water (0.5 l).
• A sprig of thyme.
• Cinnamon stick (2 pcs.).
• Bodian (3 pcs.).
• Ripe oranges (4 pcs.).
Mix whiskey, honey, lemon juice, spices, and water in a container. Bring it all to a warm state over a slow fire. Peeled orange halves are grilled on an open fire. It will take no more than 2 minutes. Pour the finished drink into cocktail glasses and add half of an orange to each.
Believe me, even the fiercest winter evening will become the most beautiful and warmest if everyone sitting by the fireplace has a magical and delicious hot toddy in their hands.
Citrus grog is a real winter fairy tale
Everyone knows that winter is the season of citrus fruits. A bright orange-tangerine aroma wafts everywhere, lifting the mood, reminding of the approaching holidays. Of course, both chefs and bartenders, even baristas, cannot do without orange juicy fruits at this time. Most winter salads contain tangerine slices. Baking smells like orange-lemon zest. Ornate Christmas trees are everywhere hung with orange “balls”. Well, what about drinks? Of course, they also add zest, juice, and elastic pieces of pulp…
We will not fall behind the trends either. We will prepare in advance for the arrival of invited guests and learn how to prepare the favorite drink of sailors – classic grog, but add a little modernity to its taste and recipe.
So, we will need:
• Black tea with bergamot (1 teaspoon).
• Oranges (2 pcs.).
• Rum EL Galipote dark or light from Brandbar (100 ml).
• Mineral water (300 ml).
• Sugar (2 tablespoons).
• Spices: allspice (1 star), cinnamon (1 stick).
Squeeze juice from three orange halves. Cut the fourth into thin slices. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, add orange slices, sugar, and spices to it. After one minute, add juice. Bring to a boil again, remove from heat, add tea, rum and leave to infuse for 5 minutes. Strain the warm grog and pour into glasses, dropping a slice of fresh orange into each. With such a drink, your evening is guaranteed to turn into a romantic fairy tale that will be remembered for years.
