Each bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey is more than 220 years of tradition and craftsmanship. John Jameson, a talented entrepreneur and connoisseur of whiskey, started his distillery in 1780 in the heart of Dublin. The ancestral motto Sine Metu (“Without Fear”) helps explain John Jameson’s unique innovative approach, thanks to which he created the smoothest whiskey in the world. Soon after its foundation, the John Jameson&Son whiskey distillery became one of the largest enterprises in Ireland. John Jameson spared no effort and expense to ensure an uninterrupted supply of excellent raw materials and guarantee the impeccable quality of his whiskey. The fame of the great taste of Jameson whiskey spread around the world, thanks to which, by the end of the 19th century, Jameson became the number one Irish whiskey in the world. Jameson’s leadership in this category is still unquestionable. The main components of Jameson Irish whiskey are barley, barley malt and the purest spring water. In Ireland, the malt is dried in closed kilns, so local whiskey does not have the smell of smoke – it is distinguished by a light floral aroma. In addition, Irish whiskey is the only whiskey in the world that undergoes triple distillation and therefore has a milder taste than its “brothers” from Scotland and America. The resulting whiskey is poured into oak barrels, where sherry was necessarily aged before that. In these barrels, in complete darkness and silence, the whiskey matures, accumulating tannins, “growing up” for at least six years. During this time, the bouquet and taste of the product is finally formed, the drink acquires a golden color. As the Irish say, St. Patrick pours a tear of thanks into every barrel.
The character of each type of Irish whiskey is determined by the blend master — he combines up to forty different types in one barrel. It is this complex combination of different whiskeys, each of which is unique, that creates the truly magical taste of Jameson.
