Every person has the right to choose. This also applies to alcohol consumption. Someone generally prefers to live without alcohol, someone likes products that have a small strength, such as wine, beer, liquors.

Our company offers the highest quality products of this venerable line. Gin “Trafalgar” and “De La Bo” from “Brandbar” are very popular among lovers of this unsurpassed drink.

The cure for the plague

Some researchers argue that the predecessor of gin was an effective cure for bubonic plague, created by the monks. It appeared in the 12th century in Holland. It contained the same juniper berries, which are one of the main components in the recipes of modern alcoholic beverages called “Gin”.

Other experts say that the creator of juniper tincture was a doctor, chemist, physiologist who lived in the 16th century in the same Holland. Allegedly, it was Francis Silvius, aka France de la Boe, who, in search of an effective medicine for various ailments, tried to mix juniper cone berries and grain alcohol.

A couple of decades later, an entire enterprise was created, preparing a drink called “jenever”. It comes from the French “jenever”, which means juniper in translation. The founder of the first gin company was Lucas Bols.

Soon, the original, pleasant-tasting alcoholic product reached England. The popularity of gin there was so huge that, according to historians, already in 1740 its production was six times greater than the production of beer.

Thousands of shops and drinking establishments across the country were engaged in the sale of a pleasant-tasting drink with a moderate strength. Due to its relative cheapness, it has become accessible even to the poorest sections of society.

What is it like and what does it contain?

Gin can be considered one of the most ancient alcoholic beverages. There are only two types of it – Dutch and English. They differ, first of all, in production technology. In Holland, juniper berries are initially mixed with a special grain must. The resulting mass goes through a preliminary stage of fermentation. Then the distillation process begins.

The resulting product is infused with herbal ingredients for several days. In addition to juniper, other spices are also included, which manufacturers often keep secret. The final action is distillation in special alambicas made of copper.

There are several types of jenever, as the traditional potion is called. Genever Jonge means “young” drink of this line. It tends to have a sharper and drier taste. The allowable amount of malt wine in it is 15%, sugar – 10 g per 1 liter.

There is also the Oude category. In the “old” genever, there is also 15% malt wine, only this figure can indicate the minimum content. Sugar is already allowed up to 20 g. It has a thinner, softer bouquet, a sweetish taste.

The most expensive type is Korenwijn. This elite drink contains from 51 to 70% malt wine and 20 g of sugar per liter. As a rule, this valuable alcohol is aged for several years in oak barrels, which makes it even more noble.

But still, London dry gin is considered a universally recognized classic. It was he who now captured all the glory for himself. The composition of London Dry Gin, in addition to the traditional juniper, may include citrus fruits, almonds, violet root, coriander, and many other additives. It has a fairly solid fortress – up to 47 degrees, the highest quality, and does not contain sugar.

Alcoholic products “De La Bo” and “Trafalgar” from the company “Brandbar” are produced using the classic technology used in the manufacture of London gin.

How to drink?
